Lighthouse Parent/Child Application
The Lighthouse program offers play-based learning and community building, facilitated by an experienced early childhood educator. Classes meet once a week in one of our beautiful outdoor classrooms. It is an opportunity for parents to come together with their child to learn lullabies, language games and songs.
Connection
Parents spend time together each week, observing the children and sharing experiences; often finding support and friendship amongst their peers.
The program provides opportunities to ask questions and learn more about child development, Waldorf education and other topics related to parenting a young child.
Schedule
The morning schedule holds moments for quiet and space for activity. Children delight in coming together with the group to sing songs and play lap games. A simple snack is offered with warm tea. Occasionally, seasonal crafts are offered. The group ends its time together with a walk on our grounds.
Things to Know
We meet weekly in our beautiful classroom.
Each class will be limited to 10 families per class (min of 4). Enrollment is first-come, first-serve.
Sick parents and children must stay home from Parent & Child classes.
Entrance to the Parent & Child classroom is down the driveway between the two buildings and enter the first gate on your right to the fenced-in playground and outdoor tent classroom.
Please complete the Lighthouse registration form with non-refundable tuition to reserve your space in the desired session.
No adjustments are made for absences, withdrawals or dismissals. However, if Seacoast Waldorf School cancels due to inclement weather we offer a make-up class.
Outdoor play is a part of the daily schedule and children and adults should come dressed appropriately to enjoy the season's weather. In the winter, please wear lots of layers, and wear snow pants, snow boots, mittens, hats etc. Our playground is muddy in the late winter/spring so we suggest rubber boots and rain pants.
