Backyard Fun

At Seacoast Waldorf Schools Summer Program children experience old-time backyard fun...the way summers used to be. ​Let your child dig, climb, build, explore, create, splash and play, play, play!

We emphasize:

Great Programs:​  We provide 5 week-long sessions that run the weeks of June 20 through​ July 28. ​Ou​r summer camps feature wholesome, age-appropriate activities in a natural setting. We strive to provide a mix of hands-on, teacher-led activities and supervised child-directed play.

Mature and Experienced Leaders:​ ​Our teachers are caring and mature adults, many of whom are Waldorf-trained teachers. 

Beautiful Location:​ ​ Our 5 acres of meadows, woods, and playground are the perfect relaxed setting for children to spend their summer days. 

Things to know for Summer Program with Covid Guidelines:

  • We will be outdoors for all our summer programs in our beautiful outdoor classrooms.

  • Each camp has limited enrollment. Enrollment is first-come, first-served.

  • The camps will follow the Covid guidelines of the school.

Refund Policy: Refunds less a $50 processing fee per enrolled child will be issued up to two weeks before your child's first week of summer program.

Circus arts camp

Circus Arts Performance

Teacher: Martha Coombs

Ages: 6 & up

Dates: Week of July 10-14

Cost: $400

Circus Camp

Your child will learn:

  • BALANCING!: balance beam, tight pipe, globe walking, stilts, unicycle

  • JUGGLING! : scarves, bean bags, balls, clubs, rubber chickens, etc. 

    • but also diablo, flower sticks, spinning plates

  • CLOWNING! : gags, skits, etc.

  • MAGIC!

  • BUILDING! Set construction, costume design, etc.

  • These skills are taught to children according to age. Normally, unicycle, stilts, juggling balls and rubber chickens are only taught to children in Grades 4 and up.

  • After a week of learning skills, the children will perform a full fantastic circus production at 2pm on July 14. Circus arts camp is for children of various ages as activities will be adjusted appropriately.


LITTLE SQUIRREL’S ADVENTURE CAMP

Little Squirrel’s Camps are full for 2023!

Teachers: Zealia Cavalier & Hannah Chase (Weeks 1, 4, & 5) and Lisa Johnson & Laura Clark (Weeks 2 & 3)

Ages: 4-6

Cost: Half Day $275 (8:30 am-noon)

Full Day $375 (8:30 am - 3 pm)

Creating art with nature in one of our camps

A small camp with a family feel. This summer we are pleased to offer 5 weeks of joyful outdoor play on our beautiful 5 acres of forest, fields, and playgrounds. The rhythm of our day takes into account the warmth of the summer season, with active mornings and quiet afternoons. Campers will enjoy forest walks, building fairy houses, picnics, and shady rest. Songs, crafts, and stories of the season will be shared daily with the children.

Offered in a one-week session with half-day option. Children enrolled in half-day sessions should bring a wholesome snack each day. Those in full-day sessions should pack a wholesome snack and lunch each day. The children in Little Squirrels rest for a half hour after lunch. Often, it is the teacher reading a story while they rest. They do not have to sleep. Here is the daily schedule:

FUN WITH FIBER ARTS

Ages: 8 & up

Dates: Week of June 26-30 and Week of July 24-28

Cost: $375

At Fiber Arts Camp we will enjoy creating unique projects that include various handwork techniques including dyeing, printing, sewing, and more! Campers will be encouraged to express themselves and enjoy a creative and fun environment while completing their individual artworks. Sign up for one or all weeks of camp. We will offer different craft projects each week.

Ages: 8 & up

Dates: July 17-21

Cost: $375

Join us for a week of creativity and fun while we learn different forms of weaving. You will build

your own loom and use a variety of fibers to make a woven piece that we will use to create a

beautiful finished work.

 

SOCCER, MUSIC, & Games

Teacher: Santiago Baena Florez

Ages: 11-14

Dates: Week of June 20 - 23

Cost: $375

This is a 4-day summer program that offers soccer fundamentals, musical activities, and fun games. The children will engage in making music, rhythmical exercises that promote coordination, and games with sound. The children will have an opportunity to make instruments and play the xylophone, drums, and ukulele. Come kick the soccer ball around, learn some techniques, and have some fun!
